When Louisa was maybe 2-ish, if you asked her what time it was, she would pretty much always reply "Forty-forty clock." I hadn't thought of this in like 2 years, even though it was one of my favorite weird little phrases of hers. It probably would have been lost to me forever, except today something kind of remarkable happened. (Remarkable enough to make me open the Blogger page and actually post something!! Shocking.)
Bridget asked me if she could wear my watch, and I let her. (Side note: I lost the watch I've had for 13 years about three weeks ago. I am mostly certain that it is in the house somewhere, because the last time I wore it was to a baseball game. After that night, I have not seen it. But it doesn't make sense for me to have lost it at the game. Anyway, I've been wearing a different watch - one with a band that is far more adjustable than my typical watch.) So, she's wearing my watch around on her little arm and suddenly she stops, looks up at me, and says: "It's forty-forty!" No kidding.
That's kind of... odd, right?
