It turns out that what happens when Louisa stays up talking and laughing and jumping on the bed until 11pm, is that she wakes up talking and laughing and jumping on the bed at 6:45 in the morning. But the awesome part about her sharing a room with another little girl is that it was almost an hour before they ventured out of their room to come and ask if it was wake-up time (I think there might have been one intervention before that by Bill, I'm not sure- I was still trying to pretend I was asleep).
To say that Louisa is enjoying herself doesn't really begin to explain it. At the moment, she is sitting here at the table eating second breakfast and she just asked me "where's my girl?" meaning Nora, the girl that she shared a bedroom with last night.
The weather is not great but so far it doesn't seem to matter. At least we don't have to worry about slathering the kids with sunscreen! More to come later, and check the flickr page for photos...

Beach House, Part I
So, you know what's crazy? Trying to get five kids under the age of five to go to sleep at the same time. Especially when they are all amped up over being at the beach, and staying in a house together. The girls are in one room, jumping on the bed. The boys are in another, chucking a football around. The baby was sleeping, but just when I'd successfully convinced (fine, bribed) Louisa to settle down and relax, Bridget woke up. Now B is sleeping again and the little voices upstairs are ramping up again. I have no idea what this means for tomorrow.
It's also crazy that we had been here at the beach for maybe five minutes before Louisa had stripped her clothes off and declared that she wanted to put her "whole body" in the ocean. And now it is nearly 11:00 and she's still awake! I fear for tomorrow.
